As we begin our second year of transitional ministry together, I give thanks for the ways God has been at work among us. This past year has been a season of listening, learning, and discerning – honoring the past while leaning into the future God is unfolding. It is the time when you explore who you are, whose you are, and what you would like to become. And as I say, God is in all of this. God is continuing to move the wonderful folks of United Reformed Church into God’s church of the future.
Transitional time is not simply a season of waiting; it is holy work. It is a time to deepen trust, strengthen shared leadership, and clarify who God is calling us to be for this moment and for the generations to come. I have been grateful for your openness, your faithfulness, and your willingness to engage honestly in this journey.
As we move into year two, we do so with growing clarity, continued patience, and renewed hope. We will keep exploring in worship, service, and prayer, trusting that God – who has carried us thus far – will continue to guide us with wisdom and grace.
As I said a year ago, continue to breathe, I am committed to serving you until your next pastor arrives. Continue to pray for the Pastor Search Team as they look for the right pastor for this place, in this time. And so with great hope for the future, let us join together to create this new life, this new church, all that is emerging around us, in this season, in this place.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Joan.
